We work with established engineering organisations where products, partners or internal teams depend on complex systems. Common contexts include enterprise SaaS, logistics, fintech, data services and essential operations. The best fit is a team willing to make decisions collaboratively and give the work access to people who understand the system.
FAQ / A few useful answers
Good questions are part of good platform work.

The short version
Clear scope. Senior people. Work your team can own.
We shape each engagement around the context and people involved. These answers should help you decide whether to start a conversation.
Ask us directly ↗There is no minimum scale requirement. A focused Discovery Sprint can answer a tightly framed question in a few weeks; a broader platform partnership can span multiple teams and phases. We shape the scope around the decision or experience that needs to change, rather than selling a fixed package.
Yes. Most of our work starts with live systems, inherited contracts and real consumers. We map what is in use, identify the highest-impact friction, then recommend changes that respect compatibility, ownership and operational risk. We do not assume a rewrite is the answer.
Yes. We treat legacy systems as part of the operating reality, not as a reason to abandon good product practice. We help document boundaries, identify safe change points, clarify data ownership and design workable transitions alongside the teams responsible for those systems.
Yes. We can assess and improve the content structure, task guides, API references, examples, ownership and feedback loop within your current platform. When a portal change would materially improve discovery or self-service, we can make that case with evidence.
Security is involved early enough to shape viable options. We work with your security and identity specialists to map data sensitivity, authentication and authorization needs, review points and exceptions. We provide product and design support, not a certification or substitute for your formal security assessment.
We work directly with product, engineering, security, operations and support, using your existing meeting and delivery practices where they help. We agree who makes which decisions, share working artefacts, and make trade-offs explicit so teams can continue without waiting for us.
Handover is agreed at the start and may include portfolio maps, standards, service blueprints, prototypes, tested workflows, documentation structures, decision records and implementation guidance. We walk the receiving team through the work and clarify ownership, open questions and recommended next steps.
A focused discovery typically takes two to three weeks. A design or operating-model partnership often runs six to twelve weeks, depending on access to stakeholders and decision pace. Embedded support is scoped to the period and outcome you need. We share assumptions and dependencies before work begins.
For active engagements, response expectations and escalation routes are defined in the project agreement. Our usual support window is weekdays, 08:00–18:00 Central European Time, excluding French public holidays, unless agreed otherwise. We do not imply 24/7 support.
Orbital Relay Systems is an independent studio headquartered for international work in Porto Vecchio, France. We work remotely with teams across regions and arrange workshops or introductory calls with a considerate overlap window. Occasional in-person work can be discussed as part of scope.
We can provide a clear scope, delivery plan, named senior team, fees and working assumptions for procurement review. If your organisation has security, privacy, supplier onboarding or contract requirements, share them early so we can understand what is needed before a start date is proposed.
